According to the current genealogical data, there are two PARKER-MAJOR marriages that are being confused and

combined.

1. Amie Amey Amy Naomie MAJOR married (Seaside) George PARKER on 18 Dec 1721. They did not leave the

VIRGINIA Eastern Shore. This couple had the following children John Parker b. c 1722, George Parker b. c 1725, Anne

Parker b. c 1727, Sacker Parker b. c 1730, d. b 30 Dec 1760, Amy Parker b. c 1732, Rachel Parker b. c 173, William

and

• But which George PARKER?

Based on the time circa 1720 and the place Virginia Eastern Shore (Accomack and Northampton Counties), there are three

possible George PARKERs.

1. The prevailing choice is George PARKER (Seaside)

born about 1700, Accomack Co, VIRGINIA

died before 29 November 1748, in Accomack Co, VIRGINIA; (sourced by his probated will)

son of  George PARKER Sr. (b. abt 1660)  and Mary UNKNOWN

grandson of John PARKER (I) and Amey ANDERSON

aka Seaside George PARKER, (sourced by his probated will)

According to the Miles Files,

Seaside "George Parker 1, M, b. circa 1693, d. before 29 November 1748 - George was born circa 1693 at Accomack Co, VA.

He was the son of George Parker Sr. and Mary (-----). [MAY BE INCORRECT] George was living in 1708 at Accomack Co, VA.

Seaside George PARKER's Will is transcribed in full at GHOTES.

When asked why he chose Seaside George PARKER as husband of Amie Amey Amy Naomie MAJOR, on Jul 9, 2010, Moody

Miles wrote

"... When Amy's father, John Major, planter, made his will in N'hamp Co in

March 1733 he named a daughter Amy Parker and a grandson John Parker.

Then on 18 July 1748 George Parker, Sea Side in Accomack Co, VA, wrote his

will naming a wife Amey and several sons, one of which was John.

So I see no indication that this George Parker & his wife Amey Major, left

the Eastern Shore of Virginia. In fact there are folks still living on the

Eastern Shore today who are descended from this couple.

You show your George Parker's wife was named Ann. I don't see the Amey

Major, wife of my George Parker, being called Ann in any Accomack or N'hamp

County records." M.K. Miles

2. A second George PARKER who is popularly -- but currently incorrectly  -  chosen as husband of Amie Amey Amy

Naomie MAJOR is Patterson Creek George PARKER of WEST VIRGINIA,

? born abt. 1700,  currently no substantiated source

This incorrect input may be the root of the error.

+ married Ann, sourced by Will and son Benjamin's will

Washington's diary records that lands were laid off for many individuals between 1748-51 - the Wappacoma

Manor containing 55,000 acres, the Patterson Creek Manor of 9,000 acres, and about 300 lots. These surveys

were made in what is now Hampshire, Hardy, and Mineral Counties."

boundary of the Patterson Creek Manor, at the present village of Headsville"

Beneficiaries: Wife - Ann, Son Benjamin. Mentioned John Funk, Land on Patterson's Creek-Fairfax grant,

Witnesses: James Young and Daniel McFeron.

Exp. George Parker was granted 399 acres of land on Patterson's Creek in Hampshire Co., Va.

Transcribed will David S. Payne

Parents for this George PARKER have not be identified to date. This George PARKER is often indicated as the son of John

PARKER and Bridget SACKER, grandson of John PARKER (I) and Amey ANDERSON. Although John PARKER and Bridget

SACKER did have a son George PARKER, he was born in Accomack, Co, VIRGINIA not Northampton Co, VIRGINIA. In fact

the whole John PARKER and Bridget SACKER family, parents and children were born in Accomack, Co, VIRGINIA.  In

addition, currently there is no data to indicate their son George relocated to Hampshire Co, VIRGINIA now WEST VIRGINIA.
