• PARKERS in Hampshire County, WEST VIRGINIA
To date we have identified four (4) PARKER families who pioneered Hampshire (Mineral) Co, (WEST) VIRGINIA. Although,
familial ties between the branches have not been established, proximity in time and location teasingly suggest a relationship
between three of the branches. However, DNA analysis indicates our George PARKER and John PARKER were not related by
paternal DNA.
• On 25 October 1748, George Parker (our PARKER line) bought Lot No. 1 of the Thomas Lord Fairfax Royal Grant; Lot No 1
was 399 acres on Patterson Creek below (North of) the Patterson Creek Manor. However, there is documentation George
lived in Patterson Creek as early as 1740.
• On 8 June 1749 John Parker of Frederick County was granted by Thomas Lord Fairfax 312 acres of land on Patterson
Creek known as Lot No. 12 (North of) the Patterson Creek Manor.
• On 10 June 1753, 237 acres lying on both sides of the road leading from Winchester to Fort Pearsall was conveyed to
Thomas Parker by Thomas Lord Fairfax.
• We have yet to discover documentation on the parentage, birth, or death of Job PARKER . His life can only be seen through
legal documentation, census and tax records -- and family trees. Job's children are well documented and his descendants still
live in WEST VIRGINIA.
