TIDEWATER VIRGINIA
There was a hive of George PARKERs in the area known as Tidewater VIRGINIA, who have been kudzu to our
George PARKER's family tree for at least a century. There were at least seven TidewaterVA George PARKERs
who were born about the same time as our George PARKER of Hampshire (Mineral) Co, (WEST) VIRGINIA, bc.
1700, place unknown -- yet.
None of these George PARKER_TidewaterVAs is our George PARKER of Hampshire (Mineral) Co, (WEST)
VIRGINIA. The DNA and document proof follow.
"The Tidewater region of Virginia is the eastern portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia." Wikipedia It includes Hampton
Roads, the rest of the Virginia Peninsula, the Middle Peninsula, the Northern Neck, and the Eastern Shore, which is composed
of Accomack and Northampton Counties.
The following are the kudzu George PARKERs of Tidewater VIRGINIA, all detailed below and referenced as George PARKER/
Wife's MAIDEN NAME. (See details below.)
1. Major George PARKER/SCARBAUGH, bc. 1659
2. George PARKER/ElizabethUNKNOWN , bc 1695
3. George PARKER/SarahUNKNOWN, bc 1715,
4. George PARKER/MaryUNKNOWN(DONUS), bc. 1660
5. George PARKER/MAJOR', bc. 1693
6. George PARKER/TANKARD, bc.1725
7. George PARKER son of John PARKER and Bridget SACKER.
Three points give documented proof these TidewaterVA George PARKERs are NOT our George PARKER.
1. A transcript of our George PARKER's will indicates it was written on 27 February 1757 and proved 13 December 1758 in
Hampshire County (WEST) VIRGINIA. The Miles Files references below have transcripts of the wills of all these Tidewater
George PARKERs, and these wills bear no resemblance of the will of our George PARKER nor refer to any land that our
George PARKER owned.
2. According to the will of our George PARKER, his wife's first name was Ann and they had a son Benjamin. There is no
documentation that any TidewaterVA George PARKER had a son Benjamin.
3. Most importantly, the DNA of the family of these TidewaterVA George PARKERs does NOT match the DNA of the
family of our George PARKER.
In the PARKER Family DNA Project the George PARKERs of Tidewater VIRGINIA are part of PARKER Family Group 12.

"However in the specific case of [5XGreat Grandson of our George PARKER]'s marker results compared with
PARKER Family Groups 5 and 12, I feel very confident in stating that he does not share the same direct-line
paternal ancestor with those groups within several thousand years. I can make this statement because of the
"haplogroup" assignments. [5XGreat Grandson of our George PARKER] is haplogroup R1a1a, and groups 5 and
12 are haplogroup R1b1a2. You could be related to Family Groups 5 or 12 through a collateral line, but not thru
the direct paternal line." 14 January, 2014 email from Dennis R. WEST, manager of the Parker Family DNA Project.
Details of the Tidewater George PARKERS:
John PARKER, bc. 1569, Southampton, ENGLAND, (Haplogroup R1b1b2e, oldest ancestor PARKER Family DNA
Project, PARKER Family Group 12) married Marie GERALD/GERARD.
John PARKER/ GERARD's son George PARKER/BARLOW married Abigail BARLOW.
George PARKER/BARLOW's second son George PARKER/CADE, bc 1626, married Florence CADE
and they immigrated from ENGLAND.
(1). George PARKER/CADE's son Major George PARKER/SCARBAUGH, bc. 1659, married Ann SCARBAUGH.
["If you look at that George Parker (#24928) in the MilesFiles you’ll see that he left a will and died in Accomack Co,
VA and I traced down all of his children and none of them were in West Virginia. MK" email from Moody Miles,
17 Feb 2013]
(2) Major George PARKER/SCARBAUGH's son George PARKER/ELizabethU, bc 1695, married Elizabeth UNKNOWN.
(3) George PARKER/ElizabethU's son George PARKER,/SarahU bc 1715, married Sarah UNKNOWN.
George PARKER/SarahU also named a son George, but he is too young to be our George PARKER.
(4) Head back up the tree to George PARKER/BARLOW and head down the tree of their son John PARKER
who married Amy (Amey) ANDERSON. Their son George PARKER/MaryU, bc. 1660, married
Mary UNKNOWN (DONUS?).
(5) George PARKER/MaryUNKNOWN(DONUS)'s son George PARKER/MAJOR, bc. 1693,
married Amey "Naomi" MAJOR.
(6) George PARKER/MAJOR's son George PARKER/TANKARD, bc 1725, married Susannah JUSTICE and then
Elizabeth TANKARD.
George PARKER/TANKARD also named a son George, but he is too young to be our George PARKER.
(7) Head back up the tree to George PARKER/BARLOW and again head down the tree of their son John PARKER
who married Amy (Amey) ANDERSON. In addition to son George PARKER/MaryU, John PARKER/ANDERSON
had a son John PARKER11/SACKER, bc 1662, who married Bridgett SACKER and their son George PARKER,
bc. 1698 at Accomack Co, VIRGINIA. George was living on 26 January 1721 at Accomack Co, VA; there is little
additional DOCUMENTED information about this GEORGE PARKER. However, he is still the 2X great grandson of John
PARKER/GERALD(GERARD) and therefore DNA indicates he can NOT be our George PARKER of Hampshire
(Mineral) Co, (WEST) VIRGINIA.
John PARKER of Hampshire (Mineral) Co, (WEST) VIRGINIA, contemporary of our George
PARKER
In the PARKER Family DNA Project, our George PARKER is in Family Group 41, and George's contemporary John PARKER is
in Family Group 18. There is no paternal DNA connection between the Family Groups, so DNA analysis indicates there is no
paternal connection between George and John -- for thousands of years.
